Moon Sisters Spring 2024: Coming of Age Program

A monthly earth-based program for female-identifying youth ages 12-14. Moon Sisters supports a blossoming community of girls committed to the Wayfinders values of caring for ourselves, each other, and the earth.

During this age where girls are questioning their identities, friend groups are shifting, bodies are changing, and social media and screen time is influential - we gather to ground ourselves by deepening our competency, connection, and care for each other and the larger cycles of life. We learn new skills and make beautiful crafts focused on personal empowerment, and exploring our place in the larger collective.

Testimonials:

"Looking to connect with yourself, others & beyond? I highly recommend you check out Gabriel. Back in the day, I was intrigued to see him transform into a whirling dervish while expressing what looked like a kinetic cosmic fu of the world. His charismatic movements matched his poetry and song and after we met, I learned it was also in harmony with who he was as a person. Time to 'Elevate in the Play shop."

REWILD: Embodied Shmita

A 7-Session Journey of alchemy and integration to honor the final weeks of the Shmita year and prepare ourselves to enter the new year.

From the Hebrew month of Av to Elul, when the earth is in its fullest bloom, we lean in closer, listen more deeply, observe with curiosity, dance to the rhythm of the wild, and sing alive the voice of the earth.

The “Rewild & Restore the Living Temple” is the 3rd and final part of the Embodied Shmita Journey journey, and it’s a time dedicated to welcoming and befriending the mystery of life, that is deeply embodied in the Shmita year. Together we create a nourishing soul space to engage with the wildness inside of ourselves and offer ourselves practices of awakened imagination, presence, creativity, dance and song.

Consider joining us if you want to:

  • Explore your own innate wildness and majesty.

  • Deepen in practices of presence and pleasure

  • Access greater embodiment and creative imagination

  • Commit to living forth in the consciousness of the Living Temple.

  • Welcome the mystery with greater patience, presence and play, rather than pushing away or avoiding.

FAQ

What is Cacao?

Cacao has been known through the millennia as a very important source of physical and spiritual nourishment. It was a measure of exchange, and its value is increased by sharing! In the Mayan tradition, cacao has been used for millenium as a sacrament of Love and is known as the “Food of the Gods”, and an “Elixir of Love”. Sacred Cacao is a very gentle heart opening medicine. Cacao allows you to connect with yourself and others in a deeper, more loving way.

Cacao is a tropical fruit, rich with antioxidants, known to contain an amino acid called tryptophan that the human brain uses to produce the neurotransmitter Serotonin, which can increase feelings of overall happiness. When consumed, cacao stimulates the brain to release endorphins, lower our stress levels, and give us a general sense of wellbeing.

What is a Cacao Ceremony?

A Cacao Ceremony is an ancestral way of prayer in MesoAmerica where all participants drink the sacred food as a symbol of communion to oneself, to nature and to the creator.

Nana Marina Cruz is Maya Tz'utujil. She is Ajq'iij also called a Nana or spiritual guide, in Tz'ununya San Pedro la Laguna, Guatemala. She is a ceremonial leader and conducts fire and cacao ceremonies and is also a teacher of the Mayan calendar and the Mayan cosmic vision. She is the daughter of Tata Pedro & works not just as a healer and therapist with natural folk methods, but as a ceremonial leader of fire, tobacco, cacao and sweat lodge, and teaches native Mayan languages. She emphasizes the importance of being truly connected in body and spirit. She believes that everything has a meaning, everything has an origin, every emotion, every disease has an origin. By finding the origin, you can truly heal the spirit and body. @naan.marina.official
